SMOKING CESSATION

BREAK THE HABIT NOW!

“A habit cannot be tossed out the window, it must be

coaxed down the stairs —– one step at a time. ”

Mark Twain

Face The Facts

1. How much do you smoke?

2. When do you reach for a cigarette?

3. Does tension make you smoke more?

4. Do you smoke during the night?

5. Do you smoke with my meals?

After you have answered these questions and have a conscious awareness of your smoking habit, be assured that you can decide to reduce or quit entirely, if you choose to do it.

Smoking: It's Just a Habit.

Have you ever thought about how many times you have lighted a cigarette? If you're smoking a pack of cigarettes a day, that's 20 times a day. Multiply that by 365 for the number of times a year, and, well, get the idea. The next time you light one, notice when and where do it. Is it upon awakening? Having a cup of coffee? Getting ready for work? After a meal? Riding in your car? You probably have a predicable pattern for your smoking habit.

You have repeated these actions so often that they have been accepted by your subconscious as how things are "supposed to be" at those particular moments. When you deviate from your pattern, your subconscious mind senses the differences, and it causes a tension to begin building in your body that you will take notice and "fix" it with a cigarette. If you are like most smokers, the cigarette smoking represents mental or physical break from your daily routine. The "break" has been repeated so many hundreds of times that it has become an important diversion recognized by your subconscious as necessary for your comfort and pleasure.

The Good New

1.      You can quit smoking with Hypnotherapy. Just remember that you have not always been a smoker. You started smoking by choice, and you can quit by choice.

2.      Stopping smoking is not a matter of willpower. It's more of a matter of de-conditioning and of developing insight into the reasons you smoke.

3.      Once you've made the decision not to smoke, you enlist the cooperation of your powerful subconscious mind.

4.      Even if you have tried to quit and failed before, if your decision is firm, you will succeed this time. Just consider your previous attempts as preparatory to this time.

Hypnotherapy creates a new image of you as a nonsmoker and when it is combined with imagination, you create a new reality that is different and better than before, free of past habits. You can step away from the PAST and see yourself in the Present, Future as a non-smoker. Nobody knows you better than yourself. Take charge, reclaim your mind, you can always say NO, but better you can use two significant words:

I PREFER. Preferring gives not only choice, but also control and mastery over events. So start stating I prefer not to smoke. Exercising your preferences will make you a more assertive person and more highly regarded by all who come in contact with you.
